Default How can I CREATE a NEW "AutoText" in MS Office 2000?

I'm wanting to create an alternative AutoText for my existing "Page X of Y"
that will allow me to customize the Y variable. A typical use would be to
renumber the Y value to consider only the specific sequential pages I want to
count (an it could change from edit to edit. The "counted pages" are inside
a larger document. I know how to start X value at "1" when it occurs inside
a larger document. Just don't know how to automate the Y to do what I need.
Thanks for all suggestions and ideas!
