How do I go to the top of the document (or home)?
In Word Perfect, I used to press Control Home.
When I press Control Home in Word, it goes to
Find and Replace - Go to
I do not want to always type Page 1.
In Word 2003 or earlier, Ctrl+Home takes you to the beginning of the
document if you click on Tools | Options | General tab | uncheck the two
boxes for WordPerfect help and navigation | OK.

Ctrl Home should take you to the beginning of the document in Word.
If you're in Word 2003 or earlier try turning off the two WordPerfect choices in Tools=>Options=>General
Ctrl+H would be Edit=>Replace
If in Word 2003 or earlier you may want to check
Tools=>Customize=>Options=>[Keyboard]
to see if a keyboard shortcut has been reassigned that causes Ctrl+Home to work the same as Ctrl+H
