Default Finding the product code in a PC

I have 4 PC's and the software for each PC but I do not know what package
belongs to which PC. The only way I think I can sort them out is by the
Office 2003 product key, but I do not know where to locate this information
in the PC's. Can you tell me what is the bet option to match the software up
to what PC.

If they are all the same version of 2003, then it doesn't matter. the key
data is NOT contained within the CD....

OK but if for example I sell one of these PC's the way it stands I would like
to give them the proper software. This way if the PC crashes and they have to
do anything they will have the proper Office Cd with proper code to make
changes or anything?
How else woudl this work?

As I said - the CD doesn't matter. as long as the Product key matched the
version of Office on the CD, it doesn't matter which CD you give them....

http://www.mvps.org/marksxp/WindowsXP/prodkey.php

Just follow the links to the download, reading the comments as you go. Run
KeyFinder and write down all the Product IDs it finds. Then keep each one
with the appropriate PC.

While Earle's post is correct for using keyfinder from
www.magicaljellybean.com, for your systems I would install and run the free
Belarc Advisor http://www.belarc.com and keep the printout with each
machine. That program not only gives the product key for Office and Windows
but key numbers for many other programs that you may have installed along
with most or all of the hardware installed in the system in question. That
way, if you later sell one of the machines you will know what software is
immediately available to install on a different machine once you wipe the
one you sell and what hardware drivers you would need to rebuild the system
if it totally crashes.
