Default Excel 2007 'life boat hang'

Has anyone encountered an error in Excel 2007, that is refered to as a
"life boat hang?"
Once on PC I will get more information, maybe a screenshot.

Since I can't post screens, Here is a copy of the Error log. User
reports working in Excel 2007 and it just crashes with an error
"officelifeboathang" Upon checking the error log I get what is
displayed below.
Thank You for any help you can provide.

Not much turns up in Google - two common suspects are that mapi.dll has been
modified, or problems involving McAfee apps.

any help?

Hi Adam,

That is often related to Office Document recovery.

If you start Excel in Office safe mode, (hold control key while starting) see if you can open the file then resave it. It may have
some corruption in the file in which case you may also want to check with the folks in the MS Office Excel discussion group using
the link below.
