Default Euro Display

I am an IT Trainer. All my students have Windows 2000 and Office 2000
installed. Some of them have this problem. In Excel when they create a chart
on a new sheet the Euro currency symbol will not display - the "bar" apperas
instead.
One student had the same problem with tables in Word.If the chart is created
on the same sheet as the data the problem does not occur
