Default dvd drive not reading disks after Officer 2007 install

I'm running Office 2007 Pro Plus on Windows XP Home. Prior to installing
Office, my dvd drive worked fine. Now, it will not read any disks. The drive
appears on the drive listing, but the disk title does not appear when I open
Explorer. The drive doesn't spin up when I instert a disk.

The Properties|Hardware listing shows no problems with the drive.

There can a lot of factors on why your DVD Drive ceased to work after
installing the 2007 Microsoft Office, it may just be a mere coincidence.

Check if your drive is still working, try booting to your Windows
Installation Disc, if it won't boot then there is a problem with your DVD
Drive.
