Download Office Ultimate for 60 bucks a RIP-OFF! DO NOT DOWNLOAD!
Microsoft is teaming with a company called Digital River to offer Microsoft
Office Ultimate for $60.00. This is a great price, but the file you download
DOES NOT WORK! They offer no technical suupport and you CAN'T GET YOUR MONEY
BACK!
When you try to install what they claim is Microsfot Office Ultimate, you
will get a "the installation of this package failed" error. Digital River
will instruct you to go to the Microsoft Knowledgebase and figure it out.
YOU WON'T!
The file you download does not work! They won't give you your money back!
There is no phone number or any way to contact Digital River. They only
thing they do effectively is charge your credit card. Steer clear!!!
Re: Download Office Ultimate for 60 bucks a RIP-OFF! DO NOT DOWNLOAD!
Yet many thousands of users do not have any problems with the downloads.
Why not tell us what is not working rather than go off on an unsupported rant?

RE: Download Office Ultimate for 60 bucks a RIP-OFF! DO NOT DOWNLOAD!
I am including my previous post on this matter. There is no whare else to
download Microsoft Office Ultimate than from Digital River. They provide no
support and do not issue refunds. I'm sorry if you don't agree with me, but
I have been taken.
I have downloaded the file multiple times to multiple computers with the
same result. Two Microsoft Windows XP SP2 Home computers and one Microsoft
Vista Home Premium computer.
This is my previous post:
I get the same error when I try to install the Office update "the
installation of this package failed". I uninstalled the old version of
Office 2007 (Professional), but am still having an issue installed Office
Ultimate from the file I received from Digital River. I even tried
installing it on a different computer with Windows Vista Home Premium - same
error. I know encryption is not an issue because I am using Windows XP Home.
XP Home has no encryption feature.
Maybe this Digital River offer is a rip off. They have no support other
than suggesting to search the Microsoft knowledgebase.

If you uninstall the previously installed Office 2007 programs that you have indicated are already installed, reboot, and then reinstall, what happens?
I already have Word, Excel, and Outlook 2007 on my computer, I'm trying to get the "full package".

Re: Download Office Ultimate for 60 bucks a RIP-OFF! DO NOT DOWNL
After uninstalling the original version of Office 2007 and rebooting the
computer, I get the same error (the installation of the package failed).
Using the command prompt I am able to extract the exe file to a different
folder. But not all of it unpacks. If I try to run the setup.exe file, I
get an error indicating expected files are not present. And they're not.
Files are obviously missing. I really think the file I'm downloading is not
correct. It always fails during the extracting stage and behaves the same
way on a different computer.

Just to set the record straight on this: I downloaded the file on a Windows
Vista Home Premium computer using IE7 and a freebie download utility. The
file now works. No thanks to Digital River. So go ahead and purchase the
software - just be VERY careful how you download!

So, it sounds like your previous efforts yielded a corrupt download, right? Sometimes, Murphy is all over the details.

Yes - the original files were corrupt. I downloaded it several times on a
Windows XP Home computer with IE7, but no download manager. None of the
files would work on ANY computer, but downloading on a different machine
with a download manager seemed to make a difference. Not sure if it was the
download manager or Vista that did the trick. The "good" file works on any
computer, too.

Now , immediately, burn the good downloaded files to a CD and save it with the PID for any eventual reinstallation or install on a second PC.

|||| rebooting the computer, I get the same error (the installation of
|||| the package failed). Using the command prompt I am able to extract
|||| the exe file to a different folder. But not all of it unpacks.
|||| If I try to run the setup.exe file, I get an error indicating
|||| expected files are not present. And they're not. Files are
|||| obviously missing. I really think the file I'm downloading is not
|||| correct. It always fails during the extracting stage and behaves
|||| the same way on a different computer.

|||||| I am including my previous post on this matter. There is no
|||||| whare else to download Microsoft Office Ultimate than from
|||||| Digital River. They provide no support and do not issue refunds.
|||||| I'm sorry if you don't agree with me, but I have been taken.
||||||
|||||| I have downloaded the file multiple times to multiple computers
|||||| with the same result. Two Microsoft Windows XP SP2 Home
|||||| computers and one Microsoft Vista Home Premium computer.
||||||
|||||| This is my previous post:
||||||
|||||| I get the same error when I try to install the Office update "the
|||||| installation of this package failed". I uninstalled the old
|||||| version of Office 2007 (Professional), but am still having an
|||||| issue installed Office Ultimate from the file I received from
|||||| Digital River. I even tried installing it on a different
|||||| computer with Windows Vista Home Premium - same error. I know
|||||| encryption is not an issue because I am using Windows XP Home.
|||||| XP Home has no encryption feature.
||||||
|||||| Maybe this Digital River offer is a rip off. They have no
|||||| support other than suggesting to search the Microsoft
|||||| knowledgebase.

|||||||| I downloaded Office 2007 Ultimate from the Microsoft website.
|||||||| In fact, I've
|||||||| downloaded it three times. When I try to install, I get a "The
|||||||| installation
|||||||| of this package failed" error. This happens shortly after or
|||||||| during the extraction phase. I have administrator rights on
|||||||| the Windows XP Home computer. I already have Word, Excel, and

|||||||| trying to get the "full package". My hard drive is not

|||||||
||||||| When you try to install what they claim is Microsfot Office
