cannot open word 2003 documents in Vista home premium with word 20

As stated above I have Vista home premium with ms office 2007 but cannot open
power point or word from previous versions of word etc. Any help would be
great thanks.

I think this is a "feature" in Word 2007, that will protect you from all
the nasty viruses in your earlier Word documents. You will get a
hyperlink to a kb article that claims your administrator set policy
restrictions, even though they haven't. It then gives a couple of
registry edits that should allow you to open files from earlier Word
versions. It requires you to enter each folder that has these files in
to be entered into the registry (no subfolders allowed). I tried it
with one folder and that didn't work. I think the answer is either to
download the new compatibility pack or better still to download Open
Office. Sorry I can't give more detail as this is all from memory.
