Default Can shortcuts be added to the "Save as" dialog box on the left sid

Office applications use the same "Save As" dialog box. On the left hand side
are shortcut icons to History, My Documents, Desktop, Favorites, and My
Network Places. Is there way to add more shourcuts?

It will depend on your operating system, e.g. in Windows XP you can
alter but not increase the five choices. See: Edit the Places bar
locations in Open Save As common dialog boxes
http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/PlacesBar.htm

The information in the cited article is incorrect. :-)

You aren't limited to the built-in places, you can have user-defined places,
even in Office 2000 (the only version in which the Registry hacks were
necessary in order to add a shortcut to the Places bar - all other versions
have the ability to modify it in the UI)

If using Office 2000 here's a KB article with the correct information and
instructions:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/205041

Yes, you can add more shortcuts in addition to those you currently see.

What version of Office are you using? The steps you need to take are version
specific.
