can I retreive a cropped picture

I cropped a picture and lost the original. Is there any way to retrieve the
original?

No. Once you have saved a changed image and no longer have the original
"larger" image, the image is gone forever unless you have a backup or can
retake the image.

Same goes for changing the resolution of the image.

Depends on how you cropped the picture. For example, if you inserted an
image into Word or Powerpoint 2002 or 2003, and then used the Crop tool
on the Picture toolbar to crop the image in Word or Powerpoint, then it
is possible to uncrop the picture in Word or Powerpoint by
right-clicking on the picture and left-clicking on Format Picture |
