Brackets around hyperlinks in word documents

All of the hyperlinks in my word documents have brackets around them instead
of being in blue and underscored. Also, when I try to inster a page number in
my word document, it displays { PAGE } not the number.

If anyone could help, it would truly be appreciated. I'm sure I've just hit
Control/something but I dont know how to "unsomthing it".

Press Alt+F9 to toggle between display of field codes (what you see now)
and field results.

Alternatively, in Word 2003 or earlier, click on Tools | Options | View
tab | uncheck the boxes for "All", "Hidden text", and "Field codes" |
Print tab | uncheck the boxes for "Hidden text" and "Field codes" | OK.
