Default Body of Outlook email stripped out when using "send as attachment"

Apparently this issue is happening to others with no solutions forthcoming.
Does any one in this forum know of a work around? Thanks.

Saw something similar that was fixed years ago with SP1 for Office 2003.
What Version and service pack are installsed?

Hi Bob,
Thank you for your response. The version is 2003 and SP2. Can you shed any
more light on this subject?

Using "Send to recipient" (As Attachment), starts with a blank body.
Or is it being "erased" and the body arrives at the destination empty?

It is being erased. Users do not realize it until they get a message back
from recipients that they do not know what to do with the attachment. It is
also intermittent. Again, thank you for your time.

OH! That is an odd one, is there perhaps a "outgoing" e-mail anti-virus
scanner involved? Those don't do anything useful and can really make
trouble.

Not sure from your description (such as it is) of the problem, but maybe
the following KB article applies to your situation:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=278061
"Winmail.dat attachments are included in received e-mail messages in
Outlook 2002 or in Outlook 2003".
