Default AVI movie file dropped into a PowerPoint slide goes black

Can anyone tell me why an avi movie file that I've dropped into a PPT slide
opens with the image visible and then goes black for the duration of the file
playing? Audio comes through just fine, but no image. Using PPT 2007 with a
Dell running Vista.

Hi there

Sounds like a file path length issue to me:
1. Create a folder directly on your hard drive (e.g. C:\ppt)
2. Move presentation and video file to the folder
3. Reinsert the video through Insert -> Movie -> Movie from file
