Default Auto Response to Email

Does anyone know how to create an Auto Response to Email? I have tried to do
it, but apparently you have to have a certain edition (?) of Microsoft
Outlook (Exchange?) in order to make this happen. I thought there was some
kind of work-around for this, but I'm very frustrated trying to find out how
to do it..... Help!
