Default Assign Macro to button no longer available

I have been assigning macros to custom toolbar buttons for years. Since the
last set of automatic uypdates were installed this function appears to no
longer be available.

When I customise and click modify to assign the macro the only option naow
available is hyperlink.

What have I missed and how do I regain this functionality? I need it!!!

Any help would be appreciated

It would be helpful to know the application and version you are referring
to.

I believe you are thinking of the steps you us for Excel which isn't the
same for all applications. In Excel, you add a Custom Button, click Modify
Selection and then use the "Assign Macro" command. For other applications,
such as Word, you use the Macros category, find the macro you want to add to
your toolbar/menu bar, and drag/drop it to the desired location.

mmmm you may be right.

I was dreaming, I do usually drag and drop the macro to the toolbar.

Doesn't work that way in Visio though, back to the drawing board,

thought that may have been why I was getting an action failed error trying
to set the .OnAction property using vb code

thanks Beth

I'm sorry, I can't help with Visio, what I do know is it's more complex than
Word or Excel, I think you need to make the assignment through VBA and I
don't recall the specifics, but I'm sure they could help you out in a Visio
newsgroup. :-)
