Default Access issue

We have a problem where a user can double click on an access database and it
will start Access and run successfully. The problem is when another user
clicks on the same file - Access does not start. If however, the user starts
Access and then opens the file manually, it will open.

The file is set to shared.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

On the computer that doesn't work, go to Start/Run and run:

msaccess /regserver

Note that there is a space before the forward slash. This will rebuild the
file associations, which it sounds like that may be the problem.

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email cannot be acknowledged.

This problem is actually with any computer, so it makes me think it has more
to do with the server that it is on. What happens is that when one user
opens the file, they can double click it and it runs okay. The second user
does the same thing and it fails. We can reverse the physical machines and
the same thing happens.

If it's a secured database, (one that uses a specific .mdw file), it's
possible it can't be found initially but by starting Access first the
correct workgroup is joined. Although usually you get a message stating you
don't have permission to open the file but you never know. You might want to
post these specific details in an Access newsgroup in order to obtain a
broader audience.

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email cannot be acknowledged.
