Default Thank you HTFC Members

I felt the need to post this note. I am a heavy user but not a computer repair person. My Acer 5720Z synaptic mouse touch pad was not working after I decided to use a USB mouse. So I took it to a repair store for a fix. After 7-days I went in to pickup my computer and they said; their diagnostic indicates that the cooling fan was dead over heating the computer so the mouse pad would not work. They said that the repair would cost $350 dollars however the damage may have caused permanent damage to the touch pad so it may not work after replacing the cooling fan.
So I examined the fan and it looked perfectly fine, tight and smooth moving. So I plugged it back in went to the HTFC site and searched for a fix. After two minutes a member post a simple Function F7 key shift and the problem was fixed. Also the fan worked just fine and the system operates like new.
Thank you HTFC members for help out a novice computer user.
You saved me $350 dollars……..
Thanks again….
Sam

Thanks for the compliments, very much appreciated... and to the people who helped to solve your problem.

I've met umpteen similar things with telly's and video recorders etc, no doubt they will offer you peanuts to take off your hands, knock a bit of cash off a new one that you should decide to buy and then re-sell it for a profit...

... another reason maybe is more profitable to sell than to repair it
