MS Warns of Vista SP1 Update

Microsoft is warning Windows Vista users that a forthcoming service pack for the operating system may stop some third-party programs working.

Programs hit by Vista SP1 updates are Bit Defender, Trend Micro Security Suite and Zone Alarm Security Suite amongst others.

Microsoft warned that its list was not "comprehensive" and asked people to get in touch with the maker of any affected software to fix problems.

wow - I'll be running XP for another six month then...

These programs that 'won't work with SP1 point's in two directions... either Microsoft don't give two hoots about them or these program makers can't be bothered to to update them.... lets face it Microsoft does change like the wind, there were patches for patches with XP so whats going to happen with Vista?

Wonder how much space both on hard disk and RAM Vista will end up taking after a couple or more of these updates... soon the RAMs will be on overtime
