Check it out. I have it running on Microsoft virtual PC. If you decide to go the same route, give yourself plenty of disc space so you can load a bunch of programs onto it
Oh....If I had a vacant partition, I'd recommend installing this rather than running it virtual. Although it looks pretty cool, I think the virtual environment is slowing it down considerably. Not to mention the difficulty in getting the sound to work

I just read yesterday that they aren't going to be making it available for download any longer. ****.....just checked the site, and they have pulled it!
Welcome to Windows 7

It is possible to get copies of W7B through other sources...and Microsoft is still providing product keys according to the site.

Cheers,
Randy

Sorry, didn't realize this was so old.....:-)

Thumbs up

I am testing Windows7 now it is awesome so far. The bootup time is the fastest of any operating system windows has had so far. Let's hope they do not ruin that before releasing to the public. It does freeze up when I run my Window Washer, made by Webroot. So far everything I have has worked with it.

Unless there are some major changes coming this beats dare I say it (Vista).

I agree - Windows 7 looks like the best Windows so far - here is some neat articles about it: 50 seriously useful Windows 7 tips; The 12 cool new Windows 7 features that aren't in the beta
The #3 in the last article looks pretty scary though -
"We received feedback that ... needy windows were too subtle..." so they decided to fix it "First, we changed the flashing animation curve to make it more noticeable. Second, we used a bolder orange colour. Finally, we wanted to double the number of flashes."
-yeah, more orange flashes, that's what we need!

Windows 7 beta 1 vs. Vista vs. XP performance shootout - which is best?

How does the latest leaked build of Windows 7 (7048) compare to the beta 1 (build 7000), Vista SP1 and XP SP3 in terms of performance?

Amen to that... Gracie for saying it! haha

It took XP a long time to get it together, then Vista Home Premium comes crashing the party and flops like a wack DJ. Now this new W7... Hmmm. I've got plenty of time to get older, but greater-wiser technology should be faster than anyones biological clock, yeah?

I bet I die a happy computer user but then, does Heaven go with MAC or Windows?

Hoepfully they've created something far more superior than these Earth products

I'm banking on it. Ciao arrivederci Bambinos

That's awesome:
