Default What happens when I close my laptop?

I have my power schemes set like this.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...erschemes.mspx

If I leave my laptop plugged in and just close it, does it go into
standby or hibernate?
Will the hard drive stop spinning?

Thanks

It is a Dell BTW When I turn it back on a progress bar shows at the
bottom of the screen and it will go to almost full and hang. I have
to turn it off and back on before it will boot.

It didn't start doing this until I changed the power schemes trying to
get the hard drive to shut off.

Can't tell from what you're pointing out.

You need to go to the Advanced tab of the Power Options, there you set what
you want to happen when the lid is closed (as well as what happens when you
press the sleep and/or power buttons.)

If you see the progress bar, you must be Hibernating. Sounds like a
video driver bug or an OS problem. Make sure you have all the latest
updates from Windows Updates. Hope that helps.
