Default ThinkPad 560 no Easy Setup

Hi -

I press and hold the "F1" keyt then power on the system. It will not
go into "Easy Setup" no matter what I try. Is that program held on
the hard drive or BIOS? And how can I get oit back. I get a 8611
error and the Mouse does not work when I boot to the OS. I need to
disable the track ball so I can use an external mouse.

Thanks for any help.

That's the document I was working off of. It says to get into the
config utility. That's the part I can't get into. I hold down the
F1, then power up and it loads the OS with no mouse. NO big deal,
It's an old peic4e of junk anyway. I thought I could use it for
internet access only.

How about holding down some ten keys at the same time while booting?

At least I have read somwhere that that will send you to the Bios
setup. Or disconnect the CMOS battery for a couple of minutes while
the computer is off.

Great ideas, but I tried them already. I somehow think the setup
program that the F1 key envolks should be on a small partition on the
hard drive. I must have wiped that out. Do you know how I could get
that back?

Thanks
