Default Numbers for Windows Vista Are Ugly

Ballmer hints that Microsoft could keep selling Windows XP

A lot of us believe that going from Vista to XP is an upgrade. ;-)

Agreed.

Unfortunately XP SP3 did not receive the attention it deserved and it
has been delayed too long. This also means that Microsux top developers
did not write this service pack, so one could almost expect
service/security updates directly related to using SP3.

One other thing. I have decided to get back into the corp rollout game
as a contractor again.
Two large scale projects that were presented to me, one a large
hospital system, the other a national bank. Both rollouts are utilizing
Windows XP (on new equipment) with nary a mention of Vista in their
plans. So your talking at least 20,000 PC's right now that the companies
are not upgrading to Vista. Just a drop in the bucket.
The one thing I like about this, is when I have to start making custom
images again, I'll have some jacked up hardware, running on my lean mean
XP image. Woohoo. Nothing like showing a client how fast their corporate
web apps run on clean OS.
