Did you consider the possibility it was not a hardware failure, or you
somehow caused it? I have used computers for over 20 years and never had
a display failure, if I except one occasion of a very poorly built CRT.
Of coursee, could be pure and simple bad luck but ... and I fail to see
how running a Mac would improve your odds!

Macs have the same LCD issues. Bad day at the assembly plant.
