I bought an used IBM Thinkpad T41 on eBay, I Installed XP Pro on the
IBM T41 but none of the hardware, like soundcard, LAN, Wireless etc
are working. Windows is running ok, but PnP seems not to find the
devices. Did I miss something, like an IBM set-up disk. The system was
shipped formated. WTF is there a trick that will force Win XP Pro SP2
to recognize the devices>

You can find the drivers for the T40/41 here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/si...cid=MIGR-46258
I would start with the Intel Chipset drivers and then one after the other.
As for the tools and utilities on this website - you might not need all of
them.

I tried that but WinXP Pro still doesn't find the devices.

Which devices specifically are you talking about? What does
'System Properties\Hardware\Device Manager' say? Do you see yellow
exclamation marks in the list?
Maybe Windows installed a Standard Driver for the devices. In that case the
PnP would not automatically search for the appropriate more recent drivers.
You can update the drivers manually by clicking on the devices, then
Driver, Update Driver.
Instead of updating each device driver manually, you can also use the
ThinkVantage System Update. This tool checks your system and should update
it as necessary: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/si...id=TVSU-UPDATE

Have you uninstalled them in device manager and then rebooted so WinXP can
reistall with the new drivers??? or click on "update driver" in the
properties section of each device

I managed to get everything but the wireless working. So I'll be
fiddling with that...

Getting the wireless run can be a bit tricky. Have you tried the drivers on
the Intel website insteat of the Lenovo/IBM site? These might work, but you
might have to try different versions.
