Hello, just wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to re-solder a
new 25 pin ribbon connector to a ML6700 Gateway laptop motherboard.
Connector got messed up after attempting to super glue the ribbon in
due to the locking tab missing.

sure, it's possible, but if you had the tools and skills, you wouldn't
have asked the question.

Soldering in the new connector is relatively easy if you have the necessary
soldering skills to do the job.
Removing the old connector is a different matter all together. If it is not
done correctly, it is possible to completely wreck the motherboard. It
requires some specialist equipment beyond a soldering iron.
Re: Gateway Laptop Keyboard connector on motherboard
The way to remove the old connector is to understand that you don't care
about the old connector itself .... only the motherboard. A Dremel tool
or similar can cut up the old connector in such a way that removing it
becomes much easier.
