Buying a laptop

Hello all,

Does anyone know where I can get a laptop for under $999.00? I'm
looking for laptops $500.00 to $700.00. I am thinking of getting
Windows Vista Ultimate.

You have got to be kidding. You can get good, acceptable laptops for
most people for most purposes as low as $399. Example: Best Buy has
had the Toshiba A205-S5825 on sale for $429 and $399 twice during the
past 6 weeks ... check the reviews on the web site, it is VERY highly
regarded by those who have bought it. I'm not claiming it's the be-all
and end-all of laptops, nor am I claiming that every $399 laptop is ok
(many are not), but this one is a perfectly good laptop for 90% of
people for 90% of purposes. There is no need to spend more than about
$700 or so for a brand new laptop unless your needs are very unusual.
