For some reason i cannot paste anything on my laptop neither can i log onto the internet and the system restore function does not work. I need to get information off the laptop in order to re format it but i can't move any files anywhere. Has anyone ever encountered anything like this before and if so what can i do to get myself up and running again.
Yea so i've tried the ctrl functions i've tried the right click the thing is everything seems to be able to copy or cut but i can't paste anything anywhere. I'm talking like files, folders, even txt absolutely nuttin will paste. I need to copy files over from the main folder to backup but i can't even do that, also tried the file transfer wizard that won't do nuttin either.
I hate to sound repetitive, but how are you trying to paste?
What are you pasting to?
I would suggest at this point that you look into a program that will allow you to take an image of your dick, and copy it to another disk so that you can restore the files later.
I'm trying to copy files like i cannot move any one file to any other folder i can't drag and drop, i can't right click paste and i can't use the ctrl function either. These image programs u have any in mind that are any good?

Strange problem.... how about going into safe mode and trying 'Last known good configuration that worked'.... obviously at some stage the machine was working normally - did it just go like this?
If you can't log onto the internet nor do a restore I'd forget about copying and pasting, the first objective is to attempt to get the machine running.... as for the files connect the drive as a slave on a working machine and 'try' and get the files that way, or you can use recovery software, again this must be installed on a working machine and the drive used as slave.
It almost sounds like it's password protected and viruses do strange things.
So I myself would try rebooting tapping F8 every second or so until the screen comes this will put you in safe mode.... you may be able retrieve and copy your files from here onto a disk or pen drive to do this select 'Boot in safe mode'... to get out of this simply reboot the machine..... then try going into safe mode again but this time selecting 'Last known good config. that worked' - you could try this first if you like.
The last time I had a collection of symptoms like this (especially the system resore one), it was malware. Malware is also known to do things like break internet conenctions and all sorts of odd stuff.
If you are desperate, and you're preparing to format anyways, you may try a 'hail mary' just to get your PC free enough to get your files:
Put in a Windows disk and install the OS over the old installation. Choose the same partition and the same folder for Windows. Let it run through the procedure, and then you should have things fixed just enough to save your files.
Once you have backed up, install a fresh windows installation.
