Tray App/Error 1704 Problem

All of a sudden (but not for the first time), every time I start the computer, I get a box telling me to insert a CD for some application, or other. Then, superimposed on that box, is a bos about Error 1704. It's impossible to get rid of them. They block everything else. A TrayApp icon remains on the Start line.

I tried to clear broken registries with RegCure, but that didn't solve the problem. I tried to restore to an earlier date, but no date was accepted.

I don't recall instaling anything new that might have been incomplete. I have had trouble downloading Adobe Flash Player, but I don't know if that's related.

This is an extremely irritating problem. Would appreciate any tips on how to solve it.
