Startup Issue

Ok, so I know this may seem terribly vague, but my computer knowledge is severly lacking.

Everytime I start my laptop (Vista Home Edition) it comes up with an error messaage saying the there was an issue with initdsk.exe and that it is searching for a fix. Suprise, suprise, Vista can't find a fix for itself.

What the heck is this file, and how the heck do I get it to start working.

If you think you can help, but need more information please just ask me, I am desperate here!!!

according to what i hve reached !! this is a dangrous virus ( init dsk.exe ) .... u must format the laptop !!
