SATA DISK error - help needed

Hi

I think my hard drive is completely buggered.

When starting up the computer I get the option to start in SAFE MODE etc but this just takes me to a blue screen. If I ignore the option I get the following error message:

STOP: 0X0000007e (0X80000003, 0X805C370C, 0XF78AD2B4, 0XF78ACFB0)

I ran a test and all the errors were associated with SATA Disk S/N
= V590H0AG. I got a series of 0f00;0244 and 0f00:0028 error messages.

Can anyone help?

Hi Sam

I went into boot menu (F12) and ran a diagnostic test - the only issues came up around the SATA - which is where I got all the error codes.

Sounds like maybe you're right.

Sorry to hear.

I always start with these types of hardware problems by replacing the suspected failed component, but keeping the old hardware around. So install the new hard drive, and then once your computer is up and running, you can try to connect the old SATA drive and see if there is anything you can do about recovery.
