I'm running Win XP Professional on a Toshiba Satellite A200 laptop, display adapter: NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300.
When I scroll down a webpage I get a ripple effect which is really annoying. Also my system seems to be running a lot slower than normal since the problem started a few weeks ago. I have no idea what caused it as a number of people use the laptop and no one seems to want to own up!! I did try to download the latest NVIDIA drivers but got the following error message:
"NVIDIA setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible
with your current hardware."
I checked in device manager and it says the NVIDIA driver is working properly anyway. However, there is a yellow exclamation mark next to "serial" (under "non-plug and play drivers") and "unknown device" (under "other devices") when I view hidden files.
I would love to know how to fix this problem. As I am a complete novice in the area any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Well you got one problem right there.... there should be NO yellow warning signs, this is a conflict and usually driver related...
..the 'unknown device' is what you actually get when drivers are not installed... so double click on the device and see whats happening, you should be able to roll back or install and check the drivers in the window.... this is a first 'must do' I'd say and may well cure your problem.
