I have a bit of a "technical" issue going on with my computer right now, and I have no clue what seems to be the problem. It seems whenever I play a game or even if the computer has been running for 1+ hr/s, it seems to randomly lock up, any help would be appreciated.
Hi, welcome, good to have you iamthaman.
You may have given a clue, anything overheating, the fans are not caked in dust causing the CPU to overheat.... play a nice long game, then go into bios and check the temperature see if it's abnormal, you might even check the CPU and RAM voltages in there in case we need to cast evil eyes on the power supply.
Certainly sounds temperature related to me and the power supply is known for the this kind of fault.... seeing its time related. Sometime removing the Video card and re-inserting it can help because the fine connectors are only gold plated on copper and they can 'creep' with age, heat and spring pressure, but you do need to be careful handling it and ensure the machine has been unplugged from the power for at least three or four minutes..... always touch inside the metal case with both hands so there is no static build up before handling cards.
