eSATA port not working, Video Hardware Error and other problems please help!
First off I have a Gateway FX6710-01 sadly running Windows Vista 64-bit. Yesterday I bought a Simple Tech Prodrive 1.0TB External Hard Drive and hooked it up with a firewire 400 cable and everything works fine. Today I went out and got a eSATA cable and hooked it up.
Now my computer will lock up during file transfers from my desktop to my external drive. After it locks up is says the transfer location does not exist. Then my computer pops up a bubble on the right side of my task bar saying that is detected a new audio device and I get a window that pops up saying Video Hardware Error with this as the details:

On a side note.
My computer has a 400watt power supply but my video card is a 450watt. Don't know if this has anything to do with it. But when I play Aion for more than 30mins then is completely shuts down my computer.
Okay I know that's a lot of info but I wanted to make it as detailed as possible.
Gateway told me that they couldn't help unless I call there pay for help line even though its under full warranty.
I don't like the sound of this.... this sounds like there's something overheating or points towards the power supply and may well be responsible for the main problem, meaning the power supply is faulty or underrated........

... the only time a machine should shut down is when you turn it off or a power cut.
Just to clarify how are you powering the external drive?
