(will try to update all this info when I get home)
I build my PCs part by part, this one worked great for over a year since my last upgrade. (has sat for almost 1 year now) But I am still very much a novice.
Original problem, PC loads thru bios but when windows starts the PC appears to enter sleep mode and will not come out of it. Tried a new video card, that didn't fix it. Got fed up and let it sit for months.
Now, after hooking everything back up. (PSU, motherboard, HDD and video and RAM. I don't see anything, no bios, no windows. notta.
The button on the monitor flashes on and off with the amber/yellow color. (like before)
I checked my cable from monitor to graphics card, found it had a severely bent pin. Threw it away and tried another. Still no bios.
Now, after hooking everything back up. (PSU, motherboard, HDD and video and RAM. I don't see anything, no bios, no windows. notta.
Hmm, you say you put it all back together, may be your mobo's bios was damaged in storage, especially if not stored in a anti-static bag, you might try flashing a new version of that mobo's bios and see if that helps. i would suggest hooking up JUST the mobo and PSU w/o anything else and power it on, if it posts (power on self test) you will get a single beep (depending on board) saying that the board is ready to load into your OS, if this does not happen than you might look into getting a new board.
