Default ACER wont go passed "enter password"

so my friend has an acer computer. she has it set up so you have to enter a password to have the computer start. well she is entering the right password and instead of the computer starting..it is rebooting and asking for the password again. any idea how to get it started in safe mode or bypass that to at least run scans to fix the problem??

Hi punviken welcome,
Perhaps the password is not the problem, but a corrupted hard drive hence the reboot... would it not come up pass word invalid?

If at all possible try going into safe mode and rebooting from 'Last good configuration that worked'... try getting into safe mode by rebooting and tapping F8 every couple of seconds until screen come up, heres a link How to get into safe mode, sometimes switching the machines power off while windows is saving your settings can do this.
