Default cciss driver for SMP kernel

I'm trying to clarify if the cpq_cciss-2.6.18 driver is compatible
with the Linux 2.6.9-55.ELsmp kernel. I am seeing anomalous iowait
issues and long read times on my P800 smart array. Running RHEL4
Update 5.

I've read through all the documentation available and he readme lists
compatible kernels, but excludes any smp versions.

Does anyone know if this is an issue or whether all versions of the
kernel are supported?

Thanks for your halp.
