Need some firewall help here. I have a friend who has difficulty
surfing the net as every single site is continually being blocked by
ZONE ALARM. Now I use Norton and it only complains if it detects some
kind of intrusion. This is clearly crap and is unusable. Caroline uses
AOL (Like me) but this has an all built in (does everything) system
including it’s own browser (a bit like the old compuserve). Problem is
it is in the form of a giggle page (no way around it)n as there is no
URL bar at the top. Getting to a website I have created is impossible
as it is not in the search engine. She is of the opinion that this is
how we all surf the net. Is there a wy to configure zone alarm or
should I rip it out and replace it with something better?

Remove it and use the Windows firewall?
Cheers!

Better yet would be adding a router to function as a hardware firewall. I use a
wired Netgear that handles the job beautifully and transparently.

Perhaps your "friend" misconfigured ZA; I (and everyone I most everyone I
build for) have been using it for over a half-dozen years now without much
trouble.

I love how the technically ignorant bag out very basic software that
they have managed to bugger up. It couldn't possibly be the combined
ignorance of you and your 'friend' that is the problem here, not
ZoneAlarm...noooo...'course not

What's your problem *******-The man admits he doesn't know and wants
help and you pick on him because it makes you feel superior- but to the
real men that read your post you look like total blithering *** ****.

Perhaps he should've chose a better subject line for his original post
then...maybe? Sounds to me from what he wrote that "Zone Alarm sucks"
and that Norton (bwahahahahahahaha) is really good.
It's funny you talk about 'feel[ing] superior' when you use words and
phrases like "asshole" and "real men" and "ass ****".
Pot....kettle...hey you're black! Sounds to me like you have an
obsession with straight acting bears and desperately want to be one, but
failing that, you'll be the catcher for one.
Cheers,
Ari

Your right ikboop he is an ****. I did ask for help about how to
configure ZA. He is ignorant of ZA or he would have told me how to
configure it.
All I said was
Need some firewall help here.
Is there a way to configure zone alarm
