Default XP SP2 & Multi-Core CPU Patch?

I got to know about the multi-core processor patch for the XP SP2. I have
two desktop PC (Q6600 & E6400) running the XP SP2. Should I install the
patch? According to MS, it fixes some problems related to ACPI processor
states.

rule of thumb, if it ain't broke no need to fix it.
As far as hardware goes don't listen to MS.
