xp codecs on 98?

Hi

Dual booting system xp & 98 - neeedless to say the 98 codec selection
is long out of date. Can some or all of the .acm xp codecs be copied
to 98? I assume the .dlls wouldnt transfer successfully. And if so,
where to put them? 98 doesnt seem to put codecs in system32.

Any recommendation for a codec update pack would be nice too - but I'm
wary after cccp hosed the system last time I played with it.

Duron or Athlon xp, 1G ram, 98se + xp pro, pc wont be online.
