The Crucial is PC2 8500/DDR2 1066 ram.
The Kingston is PC2 6400/DDR2 800 ram. The faster Crucial costs more.
Is it worth 3 times as much? That's up to the buyer.

Crucial isn't that cheap if you buy directly from them, but the memory
they sell in stores seems to be roughly the same price as other brands
of the same ratings and capacities.
I haven't had a bad Crucial module yet, while lots of Kingstons tested
bad on me, maybe because Kingston often cuts the silicon wafers
themselves and doesn't apply the most stringent testing standards.

sale at the local Office Depot, up to my current HyperX** 1 GB
modules ordered from Newegg. None of them have tested bad. Consider
the retailer?

I don't think it's been the retailers but Kingston itself. The
results were consistent with the markings on the chips, the worst
chips having absolutely nothing written on them.
