White Screen

Hey guys. I have a bit of a monitor issue. Basically, whenever I turn
my monitor on, the screen goes completly white. It's as if the
backlight is on full and saturates the entire image. A good
description I have found here, though my problem is for a monitor not
a laptop:

There's a video lower down the page that looks very smiliar to my
problem. Sadly no-one on this page was able to get to the bottom of
the problem!

I will try and get my hands on a spare monitor and spare monitor cable
to properly identify what is causing the problem. However, until I can
post back with that, has anyone got any experience with this problem?
