What's the best onboard video chipset?

I've been considering buying an AM2 motherboard, but I think for now I'm
just looking.

The main thing I want is good onboard video. I think if I bought right now,
I'd probably go with Geforce 6100 or 6150 onboard video.

However, I was wondering what is set to come out in the next 6 months from
ATI and Nvidia? Are there newer, more advanced onboard video chipsets out
already that I've missed?

You probably already know this, but just in case. Gamers will tell you
there is no such thing as good onboard video.

There are some 690G based AM2 motherboards listed on Newegg. But the benchmarks
here, don't make them out to be much faster than the 6150. The only benefit of the
690G, seems to be in the output options. With one particular board, you get
options for VGA, DVI, HDMI, and component video (M2A-VM HDMI). Check the reviews
before you buy one. Also, download the manual and check that the BIOS has full
memory timing settings - ATI chipset boards tend to be a little weird about
their memory settings. If you are an overclocker, go through the manual very
carefully, as some boards have important things that are missing in the BIOS.

The biggest problem with onboard video is that it shares your
memory. The cheapest used video card you can buy would be a major
improvement.
