Default What is the best remote software I can use to help people?

Hi, I was hoping that someone could tell me the best remote control
software. I never know who it will be that needs my help so it would
be something where they download a program on their side and me on the
other and we connect.

Thanks for any ideas.

A Google search on "remote desktop" returns 27,300,000 hits. The best
remote control software is in there. Somewhere. Personal preferences
aside, it depends on which operating system is running on each end and
how concerned both parties are about security. Here's a place to start:

well I had a software vendor use a program called logmein rescue (or
something like that) as they wanted to use my system to debug their own
code. It seemed to work fine. If it isn't too expensive, you might try
that. -Dave

A free alternative is a combination of Logmein Hamachi (for a VPN) and
Ultra VNC. Works great for me, from my laptop most places in the world to
my home computers.

NetMeeting always works, unlike Remote Assistance. Sometimes
NetMeeting automatically enables audio at the beginning of the
session. I always start by informing the user that she can drop the
video window by View -- Data Only. Out of many uses, years ago we had
one issue with the laptop keyboard not functioning properly on the
remote computer. Otherwise it has always worked great.

You also put one too many ">'s" in your quoting, *******, as always.
At the same time you promote a "USENET improvement project".
That makes you look like a freak.

Geeez, you can't even keep track of which thread to post in or who
said what! I don't know where you got the quote you sited above, but
it sure as hell wasn't from me, whistle-dick.

Oh, yeah, filter engaged. "Plonk!"

Another work of ignorance from the same guy who is promoting a "USENET
improvement project"... The same ignoramus who totally messes up quoting
by using two marks instead of one mark for the prior author's
quotations.

> but it sure as hell wasn't from me, whistle-dick.

It is a quote from your prior post, ignorant blundering *******.

> Oh, yeah, filter engaged. "Plonk!"

Did your mother teach you to play with imaginary kill file friends,
*******?
