I suggest you ask someone who has a clue to sort it out for you. Unless
HP have suddenly started using chipsets they've designed themselves,
you can get drivers for them.

I find using an alternate driver if the chipset is ATi sometimes
works, I got this right on an RC415ST-HM (Alhena5) board for someone
who just hated Vista. I used these drivers and now XP works fine
although it was a bit of a headache getting drivers for all the
various bits and pieces. These are the drivers I used:
