Will jpegs viewed on a TV via a DVD player look any different if they are on
a CD vs a DVD? I don't know why they would but then there's a lot I don't
know!
It shouldn't make a difference. A jpeg is a jpeg regardless what it is
stored on.

There may be an issue if the size/proportions of the originals need to
be recalculated to fit the DVD playback. Options for this are probably
somewhere in the writing programme. On the other hand they may be
automatically adjusted to give a "best look".
Considering how cheap DVD discs are nowadays a trial and error
approach is probably best.

It depends on the resolution of the TV. If you have high definition TV
it will look better than just plain analog. The pixels on the monitor
are more like high definition than the pixels on the old analog TV screens.
