I have a compaq preario V2000 laptop that's 3 years old. The other night,
the video went haywire. I am able to use it, but the screen is all pink and
pale blue hues. If I partially close the lid, someitmes the video returns
to normal, but as soon as I open the lid past the half way point, i.e. past
90 degrees to the keyboard, it reverts to the pale blue and pink hues. I
tried all of the video settings in the bios, and also in the properties menu
of the desktop, to no avial.
Any ideas on how to fix it would be much appriciated.

Well.....you could try to hook it up to an external monitor to see if it is
the screen on the laptop or the video chipset. It won't really make much
difference since either problem is probably too costly to have repaired with
the low cost of laptops today.
