laptop problem Compaq presario V 2000 Fn+F4 dead

Hi,
Fn+F4 switches displays on this laptop. Well, it once did, and it doesn't
anymore. All of the other function keys work. Just F4 is on the fritz.
Spybot and AVG report system is clean.
Any ideas on how to proceed much appriciated.
