Default Hard Drive Won't Spin

I figure there is nothing I can do but I thought I'd ask here anyway,
this hard drive died on me and it's really was just a back up but it
stored all my articles etc I'd written, photographs over years, these
werent backed up, so it's very important to me to get this drive back.

So when I turn on the computer, the LED blinks on the HD board but
doesnt appear to spin, doesnt appear to be picked up by BIOS and
definitely not when the computer starts up, it's not listed in My
Computer. Any suggestions?

Can you try the drive in another computer? If not then can you move it to
another ribbon cable?
