Default Gaming PC

I am putting together a new gamming PC, I have had a post before that
was very helpful. I now have almost all my parts that I need to order,
just ran into one problem...

I am currently planning on buying the following items

Processor: AMD Athlonx2 Windsor 2.6ghz 5000+ Model # AD05000CZBOX
Motherboard: Fatal1ty AN9 32x
Memory: Crucial 4gb kit
Hard Drive:.... I have been told a WD 74gb Raptor 10k RPM, but i have
also heard that its load and has problems, I have also been told to go
with the Seagate Barracuda 7200.10, but have been told its gets really
hot and is noisy... Need some help there...
PSU: Rosewill 600Watt Model # RP600V2
Case: Antec Solo

Any suggestions to these would be very helpful and I would very
grateful for help. And a lot of people are telling me why go with 4gb
kit? becuase my motherbaord supports 8gb.. So why spend half the money
for just 2gb sticks, when i can get half all at once, i would be
getting a crappy deal if i went and bought 2 2gb sticks at different
times... So thats the reason for that, and if anything else isnt
right, please let me know Thanks a million every1

Zac

I would go with the Raptor for pure performance. Yes they are a *little* bit
noisier but its not excessive by any means. If its quiet you're looking for
then the Samsung Spinpoints have a very good rep.

I'd hardly say that XP x64 and Vista x64 are classed as server OSes.

It's all about frames per second and the Intel Core 2 Duo ****es all
over AMD. AMD currently can't keep up and that's the simple fact.

Then you're truly showing how clueless you are.

Funny, back when people were saying "AMD ****es all over Intel on FPS" I
posted about how that was not exactly true, yes they beat them, but not by
that much. Dollar for dollar, they were quite close (but anyone that bought
that Prescott POS for *******).

Now its the other way around, Intel is beating AMD. But saying they are
"****ing all over them" is ridiculous. Dollar for dollar they are very
close & tie on many benchmarks. A E6800 will cost this guy $100US more for
what? 20 fps? We are talking 150 to 170 fps here, nothing that anyone
would ever notice.

He says he likes AMD. Let him support AMD, he won't hurt performance
wise... & he will can put that money towards something else, like that
insane amount of RAM he is planning. =)

Yeah, yeah sounds nice but what about videos cards that actually display
the games? What type of games? You need to compare your planned new PC
against Xbox 360, WII and PS/3s.
