The -LA means it is an OEM board, so the Asus people don't have to
acknowledge it. The computer manufacturer who used the
P4S-LA board is where you'd have to look.
There is a match on the HP site for the motherboard. So HP likely has
a nice web page with all the drivers.
This would be an example of a driver to use for SIS651 built-in graphics.
This would be for the VGA connector on the back of the computer, as provided
by the motherboard. If instead, you have a separate video card, there is
a different approach to drivers for that.
For a video card, you'd want to install the AGP slot driver first.
It would be this one. (If you don't have an AGP video card, then
I don't see a point in installing this one.) If you had a separate
video card in the AGP slot, other things besides this, would be
a video card driver from the video card company, and a recent
version of DirectX from Microsoft (included with the OS for a
basic release).
Sound will be more of a challenge. The HP page says it is AD1885 (analog
devices codec) on SIS961 (Southbridge AC'97 interface). The best source
for these, would be HP, by using the computer model number. I cannot guarantee
that a third party version will work at all. The AD1885 is a 2 channel (stereo)
codec. The Asus drivers from the same era, for Asus retail boards, are for
six channel chips like AD1888. While you can try this, I really think
I'm going to need the computer model information to do better than this.
(So I can find a driver on the HP site.) To make this driver install,
might require editing the W2K_XP smwdmSIS.inf file.

References from old Joe Degwara posts. We still don't know what
HP/Compaq computer model this is. Pavilion ? Presario ? and the
number of course. I tried using the motherboard info to work
backwards, but had no luck doing that.
